The Secretariat calendar series is now in its seventh year. The 2024 edition will honor Secretariat’s daughter, Secrettame.

The series kicked off in 2018 with a Living Legends theme. It paid tribute to the last living Secretariat sons and daughters. Then, in 2022, it shifted focus to Secretariat’s significant broodmares’ descendants.

The 2024 calendar’s proceeds will go to The Secretariat Center and Old Friends. So far, the series has raised over $33,000 for equine charities through six editions. This edition will be the first to have The Secretariat Center as the primary beneficiary.

Patricia McQueen, a writer and photographer, expressed her excitement about the project. “I’ve always wanted to work with The Secretariat Center,” she said. “It’s the only aftercare organization carrying the Triple Crown winner’s name.”

She also mentioned that the calendar series might be winding down soon. So, it was crucial to make this change now. McQueen was thrilled that the previous calendars raised significant funds for several worthy organizations.

Earlier this year, McQueen published a book titled Secretariat’s Legacy.

Shelley Mann, Executive Director of The Secretariat Center, also shared her thoughts. She said, “The Secretariat Center believes all horses deserve care, kindness, and a purpose beyond the racetrack.” She added that the Secretariat’s Legacy calendar is a fun way to remember all that Secretariat has done for the racing industry.

Secrettame was born in 1978. She was a stakes winner at five after placing in the G2 Gazelle H. at three. Her first foal was the Mr. Prospector son Gone West, a Grade I winner. His sire sons included Elusive Quality and Speightstown.

Like previous editions, the Tony Leonard Collection continues to support the series. They’ve provided a photo of Secretariat and Ron Turcotte taken after the Kentucky Derby. Turcotte has also autographed a limited number of calendars.

The new calendars are available for $22 each, plus shipping, at SecretariatCalendar.com.
