2024 Stud Fee Reduced at Hill n Dale at Xalapa Amid Violence

Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa has reduced the 2024 stud fee for stallion Violence from $60,000 to $40,000 live foal, citing a need to accommodate more breeders and manage the horse’s breeding schedule effectively.

‣ Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa has reduced the 2024 stud fee for stallion Violence from $60,000 to $40,000.
‣ The reduction is due to a period where Violence was missing too many of his mares, leading to a reassessment of his fee to manage demand.
‣ The farm’s president, John Sikura, believes the adjustment will allow more breeders to access the horse at a competitive price in the market.

Well, here’s some news for ya. Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa has decided to cut Violence’s 2024 stud fee. If you’re not familiar, Violence is a stallion. A pretty successful one at that. He’s the sire of last year’s champion 2-year-old Forte.

So, what’s the new fee? It’s been reduced from the previously announced $60,000 to $40,000. That’s a live foal we’re talking about. The announcement came on a Sunday evening.

John Sikura, the president of Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa, explained the reasoning behind the reduction. Apparently, Violence had a period where he was missing too many of his mares. The fee was initially raised to reflect his success on the race track and to lessen demand for the stallion.

But things have changed. After evaluating a recent veterinary opinion on the management of his book, they feel confident. They believe Violence can cover a maximum book of 125 mares in 2024.

Breeders, listen up! They’re planning to keep you in the loop with constant communication. They’ll be discussing the ideal booking schedules for your mares. And if possible, they’ll ‘double’ all mares.

Violence is an important sire, and this adjustment is expected to allow more breeders to access the horse. And the price? It’s more than competitive in the marketplace.

It’s a tough time for breeders. Stud fees are rising in an ever-polarized market. But Sikura thinks this is good for the stallion and good for breeders. So, there’s that.
