Keeneland saw a major partnership form Wednesday as Albaugh Stable, St. Elias, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Railbirds joined forces to secure a Not This Time colt for $1.35 million during the first session of Book 2 at the September Yearling Sale.
The chestnut colt, cataloged as hip 480, is out of the winning Ridingwiththedevil (Candy Ride {Arg}) and was consigned by Gainesway. He represents valuable bloodlines as a half-brother to multiple Grade I-placed Reinvestment (Upstart).
Bred in Kentucky by Whisper Hill Farm, LLC, Gainesway Thoroughbreds LTD, and Brian Graves, the April-foaled yearling continued the strong market for Not This Time’s progeny.
Taylor Made‘s Not This Time has emerged as one of the sale’s hottest sires — with six additional yearlings exceeding the $1-million threshold during Book 1.
The transaction highlights the increasing trend of partnership acquisitions at elite yearling sales, with major racing operations pooling resources to secure top prospects.
This sale came during a robust opening to Book 2, following a strong Book 1 that saw significant increases in average and median prices compared to 2024 figures.
The Keeneland September Yearling Sale continues through September 21 with a total of 4,039 yearlings cataloged across all sessions.
