
Churchill Downs announced Monday that “All Other Colts and Geldings Foaled in 2023” has been installed as the 4-5 favorite in Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, with multiple Grade I winner Ted Noffey listed at 10-1.
The first of six Kentucky Derby 152 betting opportunities opens Wednesday, Oct. 29 at noon EDT and closes Friday, Oct. 31 at approximately 6:00 p.m. EDT, just before the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
Ted Noffey (Into Mischief) heads the individual entries after establishing himself as the juvenile division leader with dominant victories in the GI Breeders’ Futurity and GI Hopeful Stakes. The Todd Pletcher trainee is expected to compete in Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile along with seven other Pool 1 wagering interests.
Six-time Derby winner Bob Baffert conditions eight horses in the initial pool, including Brant (Gun Runner) at 15-1, Boyd (Violence) at 50-1, and Blacksmith (Liam’s Map) at 60-1.
Brad Cox, who won the 2021 Kentucky Derby with Mandaloun following Medina Spirit’s disqualification, has four horses listed including Further Ado (Gun Runner) at 15-1 and Confessional (Essential Quality) at 40-1.
The complete Pool 1 field features 40 betting interests, including 38 individual horses, “All Fillies Foaled in 2023” at 75-1, and the field option “All Other Colts and Geldings Foaled in 2023” as the 4-5 favorite.

Five additional Kentucky Derby Future Wager pools will follow Pool 1. Pool 2 and the Sire Future Wager will run Thursday, Nov. 27 to Sunday, Nov. 30. The remaining pools are scheduled for Jan. 16-18 (Pool 3), Feb. 13-15 (Pool 4), Mar. 13-15 (Pool 5) and Apr. 2-4 (Pool 6). The Kentucky Oaks Future Wager will coincide with Derby Pool 5 in March.
Pool 1 offers $2 win and exacta wagering available at simulcast outlets nationwide and through ADW platforms. Churchill Downs will provide real-time odds and past performances on its website when wagering opens Wednesday.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Betting on any individual horse will be suspended immediately if Churchill Downs officials determine the horse has suffered an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent participation in the Kentucky Derby.
