
Aqueduct and Woodbine Cancel Live Racing Sunday Due to High Winds
Live racing at Aqueduct in Ozone Park, NY and Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Canada were cancelled Sunday as high winds impacted much of the East Coast.
Aqueduct abandoned racing following the day’s second race, while Woodbine cancelled after completing three races.
The National Weather Service forecast called for sustained high winds and gusts exceeding 40 mph throughout the day.
Aqueduct’s Grade III Pebbles Stakes, scheduled to run at 1 1/16-miles on the outer turf, and the Forever Together Stakes will be rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23. Entries will be taken on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The Lake Ontario Stakes and Ashbridges Bay Stakes originally scheduled for Sunday at Woodbine will now take place on Friday, Nov. 21.
Live racing at both tracks will resume Thursday. Aqueduct will feature a nine-race card with first post at 12:10 p.m., while Woodbine will begin at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
