Sports Illustrated announced Thursday that “Revel at the Races,” a night of live music and hospitality, will open the Belmont Stakes at Saratoga weekend on Thursday, June 5, at the Night Owl in Saratoga Springs.
The event, headlined by artist and rapper G-Eazy, marks the first time the fan experience will be featured during the historic Belmont weekend. Tickets are currently available for purchase online.
This expansion follows the successful second annual late-night Revel at the Races held during Kentucky Derby Weekend earlier this year.
“Revel at the Races is a natural extension of Sports Illustrated’s legacy as a brand that celebrates sports culture at the highest level,” said Matt Goldstein, Executive Vice President, Entertainment & Special Projects at Authentic, the parent company of SI. “We are thrilled to bring this unforgettable fan experience to Belmont for the first time and to help energize one of the most historic weekends in horse racing.”
The event represents a partnership between Sports Illustrated and The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), creating a new entertainment option for racing fans attending the prestigious Belmont Stakes meeting.
This year’s Belmont Stakes carries additional significance as it marks the race’s temporary relocation to Saratoga Race Course while Belmont Park undergoes extensive renovations. The historic third leg of the Triple Crown will be contested at the upstate New York venue for the first time in its storied history.
Racing enthusiasts can expect the Night Owl venue to provide an intimate setting for the celebration, combining the traditional elegance of Saratoga Springs with contemporary entertainment.
