Gift Box Sold to Saudi Arabia, Will Stand in Kingdom Starting 2026

Lane’s End announced Friday that Grade I-winner Gift Box (Twirling Candy) has been sold to Saudi Arabian interests and will stand in the Kingdom beginning in 2026.

The gray stallion was purchased by HRH Prince Abdlaziz Bin Mousd Bin Saud ALSaud after completing his 2025 breeding season at Lane’s End, where he commanded a $5,000 stud fee.

Gift Box, winner of the GI Santa Anita Handicap and runner-up in the GI Gold Cup at Santa Anita Stakes, retired with earnings exceeding $1.1 million. The Machmer Hall-bred horse was initially purchased by W.S. Farish for $135,000 as a weanling at the 2013 FTKNOV sale before launching his successful racing career.

As a stallion, Gift Box has produced several notable runners across both hemispheres. His progeny include stakes winners Powdered Sugar and Huracan Boricua, stakes-placed Grayson’s Girl, French winner Ironico, and allowance performer Cadeau d’Argent.

His current statistics show 34 winners from 72 starters worldwide.

The acquisition represents another significant thoroughbred investment by Saudi Arabian interests as they continue to expand their breeding operations with proven Grade I talent.
