Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation announced its 2025 Saratoga Summer Event Series featuring three fundraising events to support retired racehorses and its Second Chances Program.
The series will showcase a trio of distinctive gatherings throughout the Saratoga racing season, each designed to bring together racing enthusiasts while raising funds for the organization’s mission of providing lifetime care for former Thoroughbreds.
“Gumbo with Kendrick” returns for its fifth year on Monday, July 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Principessa Elena Society in Saratoga Springs. Popular jockey Kendrick Carmouche will once again prepare his signature Louisiana gumbo for attendees.
The evening includes live entertainment and a cash bar while offering guests an authentic taste of Carmouche’s southern culinary heritage.
The series continues with “LALO For Jocks & Horses” on Tuesday, July 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Adelphi Hotel on Broadway in Saratoga Springs.
This cocktail reception, presented in partnership with LALO Tequila, benefits both the TRF and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. Attendees will enjoy signature drinks and small bites while mingling with active jockeys and horsemen from the Saratoga racing community.
The summer series concludes with the “TRF Backyard BBQ at Rood & Riddle” on Tuesday, August 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital facility on Henning Road.
This final event features classic barbecue fare, a cash bar, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Guests will have the opportunity to network with equine professionals, TRF supporters, and racing industry figures while supporting the foundation’s work.
All proceeds directly support TRF’s mission of providing dignified lifetime care for retired Thoroughbreds and offering life-changing opportunities through its Second Chances Program.
