Into Mischief Ancient World Hegemonic Versus Allowance Field At Keeneland

Repole Stable’s Ancient World Dominates Keeneland Allowance Field

Ancient World, a promising 3-year-old gelding by Into Mischief, delivered an impressive performance Thursday at Keeneland, capturing a $120,000 allowance race by 2 3/4 lengths as the even-money favorite.

The Joe Sharp trainee improved his career record to a perfect 2-for-2 with the victory, completing the six-furlong contest in 1:11.19 over a fast track.

Despite not breaking sharply, Ancient World demonstrated remarkable closing ability around the far turn. Jockey Jose Ortiz guided the gelding to the outside at the top of the stretch, where he found his best stride and confidently pulled away from longshot C K Wonder (Vekoma).

The win follows Ancient World’s successful debut at Fair Grounds on March 13, where he used a well-timed move down the lane to break his maiden at first asking.

Owned by Repole Stable and bred by Fifth Avenue Bloodstock & Glenwood Breeding in Kentucky, Ancient World was a $525,000 yearling purchase at the 2023 Keeneland September Sale. His career earnings now stand at $102,810.

Ancient World is out of the Indian Charlie mare Thirteen Arrows, a multiple stakes winner with earnings of $277,375. His dam has produced a full sister who is now a juvenile and a yearling half-sister by Life Is Good. Thirteen Arrows was bred to Cody’s Wish for this term.

The gelding’s extended female family includes multiple stakes winner Gulfport (Uncle Mo) and stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Shekky Shebaz (Cape Blanco). Notably, the Into Mischief-Indian Charlie cross has previously produced Grade 1 winner Dayoutoftheoffice.
