NYRA Reschedules Jaipur and Manhattan Stakes Due to Heavy Rain at Saratoga
The New York Racing Association announced Saturday that the GI Jaipur Stakes and GI Resorts World Casino Manhattan Stakes have been moved from Saturday’s card to Sunday due to heavy rainfall in the Saratoga Springs area.
The Jaipur, a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the GI Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, will now run as Sunday’s 12th race. The Manhattan, originally scheduled for 1 3/16 miles on the Mellon turf course, has been shortened to nine furlongs and will be contested on the inner turf as Sunday’s 13th race.
Several other turf races have been affected by the weather conditions. The third race, sixth race (GII Wonder Again Stakes), 10th race (GIII Pennine Ridge Stakes), and 14th race will all be moved to the main track.
The two-day all-turf Pick 5 wager that began with Friday’s program will pay out to ALL tickets on the final three legs originally scheduled for Saturday’s card.
Sunday’s closing day of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival features a first post time of 12:10 p.m. ET, with admission gates opening to the public at 11 a.m. ET.
