So, here’s the scoop. Two Phil’s has bagged the 2023 Jeff Ruby Steaks, a headline event at Turfway Park. This park, by the way, is planning to host a whopping 19 stakes races. And guess what? They’re worth a cool $3.725 million. This is all part of their upcoming Winter/Spring Meet.

The meet stretches over 52 days. The star attraction? The $700,000 GIII Jeff Ruby Steaks. Set your calendars for Mar. 23, folks. But that’s not all. There are other races on the card too.

We’re talking the $300,000 TwinSpires Kentucky Cup Classic and the $300,000 Bourbonette Oaks. The latter is a Road to the Kentucky Oaks Championship Series Race. Then there’s the $250,000 Animal Kingdom S., the $250,000 Latonia S., and the $250,000 Rushaway S. Quite a line-up, huh?

Now, the Road to the Kentucky Derby begins at the Florence oval. That’s on Mar. 2. The prize? A cool $150,000 John Battaglia Memorial S. The day before, fillies on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks will compete for the $150,000 Cincinnati Trophy S.

But wait, there’s more. The 26th running of the Jan. 13, $125,000 Likely Exchange S. is another race to watch out for. This race is the last chance in the “Make Your Mare” series, a partnership with Claiborne Farm. The top three finishers get credits towards a future stallion mating at the farm. We’re talking $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 in credits. Not too shabby, right?

Live racing during the Winter/Spring meet will happen from Wednesday to Saturday. The races kick off at 5:55 p.m. daily. The only exception? Jeff Ruby Steaks Day. That one starts at 12:45 p.m. So, there you have it. A whole lot of horse racing action to look forward to.
