Keeneland announced Tuesday that it will postpone Fall Meet ticket sales to Wednesday following significant technical difficulties with its online ticketing system.
The prestigious racing venue made the decision after many patrons encountered errors and delays while attempting to purchase tickets through Etix, Keeneland’s ticketing provider, during Tuesday morning’s scheduled on-sale period.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this morning’s ticketing issues,” Keeneland officials stated. “While the system was unstable, a limited number of customers were able to complete transactions, and those purchases are valid and will be fully honored.”
The rescheduled ticket sale will begin Wednesday, August 20, at 9 a.m. ET.
Etix acknowledged the problems stemmed from “an unexpected server issue” that created strain on their resources. The company has since enhanced their web servers and assured Keeneland they are prepared for Wednesday’s on-sale.
“Etix values our long-standing partnership with Keeneland, and we extend our sincere apologies to Keeneland staff, patrons and the entire community for this disruption,” the ticketing provider said in their statement.
The technical difficulties affected what is typically a high-demand ticket release for the popular Fall Meet — one of Keeneland’s signature racing events.
Keeneland officials emphasized their appreciation for fans’ patience and continued support as they work to resolve the situation.
