FanDuel TV donated $25,000 to the California Retirement Management Account (CARMA) during the sixth annual CARMAthon fundraiser Saturday, helping the organization raise more than $200,000 in total.
The event, hosted by FanDuel TV, showcased stories of retired racehorses thriving in their second careers away from the track.
“It is important to us to continue to give back to the horse racing industry through numerous charitable initiatives each year,” said Andrew Moore, FanDuel TV’s General Manager. “CARMA does tremendous work to help retired racehorses thrive in their second careers off of the track and we are thrilled to be able to support them in that mission.”
CARMA provides assistance to over 20 aftercare charities throughout California. The funds raised during the annual event will support the organization’s grant program.
The grant program specifically focuses on the rehabilitation, retraining, and retirement of California-raced Thoroughbreds, ensuring these athletes have meaningful opportunities after their racing careers conclude.
This marks the sixth consecutive year for the CARMAthon fundraiser, which has become an important annual event in the racing industry’s aftercare calendar.
