MyRacehorse Launches 12-Days of Giving Holiday Auction

MyRacehorse announced its inaugural “12 Days of Giving” holiday auction supporting Thoroughbred aftercare will run from December 8 through December 19. The event will feature memorabilia, experiences, and unique items with all proceeds benefiting the MyRacehorse Transition Fund.

Auction items will close each evening at 6 PM ET throughout the 12-day period.

The auction includes race-worn gear from Seize the Grey and Straight No Chaser, premium race-day experiences at major racing events, custom jewelry, behind-the-scenes tours, private stallion visits, and exclusive training opportunities.

“Thoroughbreds give us everything they have, and they ask for so little in return,” said Michael Behrens, Founder and CEO of MyRacehorse. “Our responsibility is not just to celebrate the wins but to take care of the horses who make them possible. The 12 Days of Giving is a reminder of what makes this community special.”

Behrens added that the initiative brings together owners, fans, partners, trainers, and friends to “shape brighter futures for every horse we touch.”

Through its Transition Fund and Retail With a Purpose program, MyRacehorse provides resources and support to help retired racehorses begin life beyond the track.

In 2025, the organization successfully transitioned 10 horses from racing into new homes and second careers. Among these success stories is Inspector (Flatter), who was reacquired by the organization in 2024 and placed with Second Stride in Prospect, KY. After retraining, Inspector was adopted and began competing in Three-Day Eventing, winning the starter division at the Hagyard MidSouth Team Challenge at the Kentucky Horse Park in his first recognized competition.

Since launching in June 2024, the Retail With a Purpose initiative has raised nearly $100,000 to support placement and retraining of retired MyRacehorse runners. The program has assisted 20 former horses and expanded partnerships with organizations including the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, Second Stride, Echo Canyon Equine Foundation, and Remember Me Rescue.
