Not This Time‘s Hot Mash Dominates in Impressive Career Debut at Ellis

Hot Mash delivered a statement performance Monday at Ellis Park, drawing off to win by 7 3/4 lengths in her career debut for trainer John C. Servis.

The 2-year-old daughter of Not This Time went off as the 3-2 favorite in the $99,763 maiden special weight event, settling just off the outside hip of Daphne Blue during a blazing :20.27 opening quarter.

Hot Mash seized command turning for home and powered clear with authority, completing the 5 1/2 furlongs on firm turf in 1:01.04. Windy Houston (Munnings) finished second.

The impressive winner is campaigned by Avalon Racing Stables, Mainline Stables and Jonathan I. Green. She was purchased for $375,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Bred in Kentucky by Sally J. Andersen, Hot Mash is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Peace and War (War Front), who earned $439,667 during her racing career. The filly also has a foal brother by Mandaloun.

The victory earned connections $59,488 and established Hot Mash as a promising juvenile to watch as the summer racing season progresses.
