NYRA Adds April 23 Card to Aqueduct Spring Schedule
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) announced Friday that live racing on Wednesday, April 23 has been added to the spring meet at Aqueduct Racetrack.
The additional race day comes following the cancellation of live racing on Sunday, March 30. NYRA, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (NYTHA) and New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. (NYTB) received formal approval from the New York State Gaming Commission to conduct the supplementary race day.
The Aqueduct spring meet features 13 stakes worth $2.8 million in total purses and will continue through Sunday, April 27.
Racing officials made the schedule adjustment to maintain the planned number of racing opportunities for horsemen during the spring meet. The cancellation on March 30 had created a gap in the racing calendar that the April 23 card will now fill.
The move aligns with NYRA’s commitment to providing consistent racing opportunities while working within regulatory frameworks established by state gaming authorities.
