NYRA Adds Dec. 10 Card To Aqueduct Fall Meet Schedule

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has added an additional day of live racing on Wednesday, Dec. 10 as part of the fall meet at Aqueduct Racetrack, officials announced Wednesday.

The supplemental race day comes following the cancellation of live racing after the completion of the first race on Sunday, Nov. 30.

NYRA, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (NYTHA) and New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. (NYTB) jointly requested and received formal approval from the New York State Gaming Commission to conduct the additional day of racing.

Entries for the Dec. 10 card will be taken on Thursday, Dec. 4.

The decision maintains the scheduled number of racing opportunities for horsemen during the Aqueduct fall meet, which serves as a critical racing period for New York-based connections before the winter racing season.

NYRA has not yet announced any potential stakes races or special events for the added race day. The organization continues to work closely with industry stakeholders to ensure the racing calendar meets the needs of horsemen while providing quality racing opportunities.

The Aqueduct fall meet features several graded stakes events and serves as an important bridge between the conclusion of the Belmont at the Big A fall meet and the upcoming winter racing season.
