OBS has released the catalog for its October Yearling Sale, featuring 459 horses available for viewing at obssales.com. The two-day auction will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 7-8, with sessions beginning at noon ET each day.
The first session will offer hips 1-230 plus supplements, while the second day presents hips 301-530 plus supplements. Supplemental entries will be accepted through Sept. 24, with horses organized alphabetically by the first letter of the dam’s name—mares beginning with D-Sam added to the first session and San-C completing the second day.
This year’s catalog showcases yearlings by prominent sires including Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, Horse of the Year Authentic, and champion Blame. Other notable sires represented include Bolt d’Oro, Charlatan, Constitution, Girvin, and champion Good Magic.
Six-time leading sire and OBS graduate Into Mischief has offspring in the sale, alongside fellow OBS graduates Bucchero, Colonial Liam, Kantharos, Mitole, and Yaupon.
The catalog also features yearlings by Horse of the Year Knicks Go, Leinster, Maximus Mischief, McKinzie, Medaglia d’Oro, Omaha Beach, Practical Joke, Solomini, Uncle Chuck, Upstart, Vekoma, and Win Win Win.
First-crop sires with offerings include OBS graduate and champion Corniche, Cyberknife, Drain the Clock, Early Voting, champion Epicenter, Golden Pal, Highly Motivated, and champion Jackie’s Warrior. Magic On Tap, Mind Control, Mo Donegal, Mystic Guide, Nashville, Roadster, and Speaker’s Corner round out the first-crop representation.
The catalog’s front cover features Crimson Advocate (Nyquist), a $100,000 graduate of the 2022 October Sale who captured this year’s G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot, adding to her juvenile victory in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at the same prestigious meeting.
