OBS saw its fourth seven-figure juvenile sale Thursday when a Quality Road filly commanded $1.05 million from Amo Racing’s Kia Joorabchian.
The New York-bred filly (hip 636) represents the second million-dollar purchase from Wavertree Stables’ consignment at the March sale. The bay filly, out of stakes winner and Grade I-placed Toasting (Congrats), impressed buyers with a sharp :9 4/5 breeze during last week’s under tack show.
Joorabchian’s acquisition marks a significant return on investment for connections, as the filly was previously purchased for $350,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale.
The transaction continues the strong market for quality juveniles at the OBS March sale, where select offerings have commanded premium prices despite a selective overall market.
