Seventh Annual Live Telethon for PDJF to Air on FanDuel TV & FOX Sports

FanDuel TV and racing partners will host the seventh annual Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) telethon on April 19, bringing together Hall of Fame jockeys and active riders to raise funds for injured riders.

The fundraising event will broadcast on FanDuel TV and America’s Day at the Races on the FOX Sports networks, with additional streaming available on tvg.com. Racing fans can participate by calling 1-844-884-7353 between 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on April 19 or by donating directly through the PDJF website.

The telethon has raised over $2 million since its inception in 2018.

“Seven years ago, this telethon was created as a vision of hope for the PDJF to raise awareness of our mission, share the stories of our recipients and raise funds for the program,” said PDJF president Nancy LaSala. “It is with immense gratitude to our industry partners–FanDuel TV, NYRA, America’s Day at the Races, Keeneland and Santa Anita race tracks who provide the platform; their staff, the retired and active riders–and our volunteers who provide their talents and compassion, and our sponsors and donors whose support gives us our purpose to reach beyond the vision we had seven years ago to further our mission for the men and women the PDJF serves.”

LaSala added, “On behalf of the PDJF Board we thank everyone for supporting this vision on telethon day and throughout the year, it would not be possible without the collective efforts of all.”

The New York Racing Association (NYRA), Keeneland, and Santa Anita will join FanDuel TV as presenting partners for the event. Active and retired jockeys will staff call centers in California and Kentucky as their schedules permit.

The PDJF has distributed more than $14 million to support disabled jockeys since its founding in 2006. The organization operates entirely on charitable donations with no other funding sources.
