Parx Racing saw a standout debut performance Tuesday as Floyness dominated her first career start, winning by 6 1/4 lengths in a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies.
The daughter of Met Mile winner Silver State pressed the early pace before drawing clear in the stretch, completing 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:07.31 as the 2-1 second choice.
Floyness represents an important milestone for her freshman sire, becoming the third winner from Silver State’s first crop. The Hard Spun stallion has quickly established himself with promising early runners.

After pressing longshot Mariah’s Big Girl through an opening quarter in :23.02, Floyness seized command approaching the quarter pole and extended her advantage through the stretch. Savor It, by Vino Rosso, finished second.
The Kentucky-bred filly has taken an interesting path to the races. Sold for $57,000 as a weanling at Keeneland November in 2023, she later brought $50,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September yearling sale before matching that price at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale.
Floyness is out of the First Defence mare Getupbabygetup, who sold for $24,000 in foal to Army Mule at Keeneland last November. The mare produced an Army Mule filly this season and was bred back to Jack Christopher.
The victory earned Floyness $30,000 from the $50,820 purse, giving her connections an immediate return on their investment.
