Street Sense Global Asset Graduates Well at Second-Asking for Cox, Juddmonte

Global Asset Dominates in Impressive Maiden Victory at Horseshoe Indianapolis

Juddmonte Farms homebred Global Asset delivered a commanding performance Monday at Horseshoe Indianapolis, breaking his maiden by 8¾ lengths in his second career start for trainer Brad Cox.

The 3-year-old Street Sense colt, sent off as the heavy 3-5 favorite, overcame a significant stumble at the start before unleashing a powerful stretch run in the one-mile turf contest.

Global Asset settled midpack early after his troubled break, saving ground while tracking fractions of :23.29 for the quarter and :47.85 for the half-mile. Jockey Florent Geroux angled his mount four-wide approaching the quarter pole, positioning him for what became an eye-catching rally down the stretch.

The colt’s dominant performance validated the promise shown in his June 14 debut over the same course, where he closed from far back to finish second behind two rivals who subsequently won their next starts.

Hurricane Express (Fr) (More Than Ready) finished a distant second in Monday’s $32,000 maiden special weight.

Global Asset boasts an impressive pedigree as a son of Street Sense out of Mexican Gold, a Group Stakes winner and Group 1-placed performer in France who earned $234,810 during her racing career. The Medaglia d’Oro mare is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Announce (GB) (Selkirk), who produced stakes-placed Maquette (Tapit).

The victory continues a strong pattern of success for this female family. Mexican Gold’s half-sister Straight Thinking (Mizzen Mast) achieved multiple group stakes placings in France and produced stakes winner and Group Stakes-placed Straight Answer (GB) (Kodiac {GB}) and Pachinko (Tapit), dam of graded stakes winner Final Gambit (Not This Time).

This immediate female line traces to European champion juvenile colt Zafonic (Gone West) and his full brother Zamindar, both significant influences in European breeding programs.

Mexican Gold has a yearling filly by Tapit and a 2025 filly by Flightline. She was bred back to Flightline for a 2026 foal.

Global Asset improved his career record to 2-1-1-0 with earnings of $25,600.
