TERF Soiree For Safety Set For May 23

TERF Announces Second Annual ‘Soiree For Safety’ Fundraiser on May 23

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) will host its second annual Soiree For Safety on Friday, May 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fair Hill DNR Tea Barn. The event aims to raise funds supporting TERF’s mission of promoting Thoroughbred health, welfare and racing safety.

Since its founding in 2010, TERF’s endowment has grown to over $2.5 million, enabling the organization to award more than 100 grants totaling over $1 million. These funds have supported educational programs, student scholarships, and equine research projects aligned with the foundation’s mission.

The evening will feature a Q&A session with Dr. Scott Palmer, DVM, Medical Director for the New York State Gaming Commission. Palmer will discuss a data-based program implemented at NYRA tracks that has significantly improved safety for both equine athletes and riders.

Attendees can participate in a live auction featuring fine art and adventure experiences, including coveted seats for this year’s Belmont Stakes at Saratoga — donated by NYRA.

Tickets are priced at $75 and include an open bar and hors d’oeuvres.
