TRF Launches Annual eBay Charity Auction to Support Retired Thoroughbreds
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) announced Wednesday the launch of its annual online charity auction on eBay, featuring nearly 50 racing-related items. The auction runs through Thursday, Nov. 13.
All proceeds directly benefit the TRF’s mission of providing lifetime care to retired Thoroughbred racehorses and supporting its ‘Second Chances Program’ for incarcerated individuals.
This year’s auction includes several notable items that should appeal to racing enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Among the featured offerings is a shadowboxed halter from Thorpedo Anna, complete with certificate of authenticity. The auction also includes autographed memorabilia from industry connections, various artwork and photography pieces, and handcrafted items.
One of the most unique experiences available is a Frank Mirahmadi race call opportunity at Saratoga Race Course — giving the winning bidder a chance to join the renowned track announcer during a live race day.
“Our online auction is always a fun way for friends of the TRF to get involved,” said TRF Executive Director Maggie Sweet. “Every bid makes a real difference in providing dignified lifetime care to our herd.”
The TRF, which operates as a non-profit organization, has established itself as a leader in Thoroughbred aftercare, providing rehabilitation, retirement, and second careers for horses that have finished their racing days.
Racing fans and supporters can access the complete list of auction items through the TRF website or directly on eBay’s charity platform.
