Unbeaten Rising Star Sneaky Good Impresses in Sandpiper

NK Racing and LNJ Foxwoods‘ Sneaky Good secured her first stakes victory in Saturday’s Sandpiper Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, confirming the promise shown in her debut performance.

The 2-year-old filly by Into Mischief, who earned TDN Rising Star status after her impressive October 5 win at Keeneland, pulled away to win by 2 3/4 lengths as the 7-5 favorite.

Breaking from the outside post in a field of nine, Sneaky Good settled in seventh position through a swift opening quarter in :21.71. She made her move approaching the far turn and powered home convincingly, completing the six furlongs in 1:10.70.

Longshot Blazing Brat (24-1) finished second, with Evolution taking third at 7-1 odds.

Antonio Gallardo rode the winner for trainer Brad Cox. The victory marks the 185th stakes winner for leading sire Into Mischief, further cementing his status as one of the industry’s most influential stallions.

Sneaky Good, purchased for $450,000 at the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, has now earned $124,790 from her two career starts.

The filly was bred in Kentucky by Andrew N. Warren out of the stakes-winning mare Gale (by Tonalist), who was acquired by Warren for $430,000 at the 2021 Keeneland November sale. Gale has also produced a Curlin colt that sold for $375,000 at this year’s Keeneland September sale and a City of Light filly foaled in 2024. She was bred back to Life Is Good.
